Braces Question! =[?

soo..some people say i would look good in braces..but now i really MIGHT get braces! :( im scared! and well..i dont want to sound braggy or weird..but people always say i look beautiful..believe me EVERYWHERE i go! but please dont say anything bad about that! well... my question is that if i get braces.. im scared people wont notice me anymore..cause i could look like a FREAK! my two front teeth are a little TOO big..and the main problem is that the braces look too little and make my teeth look big..wait noo i mean that the braces look too small for my teeth..my teeth kind of look like this:

I think that your teeth look fine, actually. The braces won't change the way your teeth look, and having them on will improve the way they are anyway. So getting them put on as soon as possible would be best.

Reply:Those teeth won't be so noticible after the braces...hope you have them off by 12th grade, they usually only take 1 to 2 years, you don't say how old you are. You won't look like a freak with them, and so much better when your done.

as a matter of fact, i'm 14 and everyone says i look good with braces. and trust me, if i look good with braces, you will too.

Reply:Wow, you are way too worried about your appearance, but I understand your concern, I also have bigger teeth, but the braces really helped with that. They can also shave them down if you are super worried. About the Freak comment, you really need to think about the 2-4 years the braces will be on, is that worth having dental problems forever?
Reply:Braces are so common that having them really does not affect your appearance that much, and if you are concerned that people might not notice you, don't be. What they might not notice is that you are wearing them at all. I am an dental hygienist and even I have to look really closely at somebody to see if they are wearing braces. It's something that, for a while can be a real pain...try cleaning somebody's dirty teeth while they're wearing braces...but in the long run, they will improve your appearance by correcting your smile. As far as your two front teeth being large, they are supposed to be. I wasn't able to see the photo, but I imagine they look larger because they are probably out in front of the two smaller ones beside them. This will be one of the things that orthodontics will correct. Braces will have your teeth lined up as straight as little soldiers. Just remember to keep them clean so that when they do come off, you won't end up with really straight rotten out teeth.
