How to know if you need braces?

How can i know if i need braces? I cant take a picture of my teeth but on my bottom teeth theres one tooth sticking out and all the rest sticking in, and on the top, theres 2 pointy tooths sticking out and the other teeths curving in, pictures would be great, cheers!

I am guessing you live in America since it seems to be a trend for dentists to give out braces, in England we tend to go in a get fillings before we leave. It's all about money. I am also going to guess that you are being self conscious, i could be totally wrong, but i don't think i am babe.

Reply:Go get an evaluation done by an Orthodontist. Only a pro can decide something like that.

Reply:it sounds like you dont like your teeth too much, so I think that you should go with braces. Unless your dentiet/orthodontist says you absolutly need braces, they it is generally left up to one self whether or not they need braces. If you do like your teeth, then save the money and buy something nice, or fix another insecurity. Get a boob job.

but people usually get braces if they dont have a proper overbite..


Although i still believe you're the one who can decide on whether you should get braces or not..sometimes its serious and your gums bleed but if its not..then really its a question of self-esteem isn't it?:)

Reply:well i have to have braces now, and my teeth are pretty much like yours. So why dont you ask your local dentist about it and see what he says. If he doesnt recomend it then your teeth will soon sort themselves out. Also dont worry about the 2 teeth at the top as thats very common!
Reply:You know you need braces if you don't like your teeth. If they don't look straight to you, you need them. And if you have to ask, it means you do.
