A question for the professionals or people with experience: how long do you think ill have to wear braces for?

A question for the professionals or people with experience: how long do you think ill have to wear braces for?
none of the pictures are showing up for me.. but you will most likly ahve braces any were between 1 year to 4 years .. i got mine the end of 6th grade and off the end of 8th grade i was lucky.. i neevr wore my retainer my freshman year i was to embarressed one of me teeth moved on the bottom becuase i chose not to wear them when i was suposse to

Reply:There is no way to even guess as it depends on how fast your teeth shift and how often they adjust your braces etc.
Reply:The only who can tell you is your dentist. It depends a lot on the formation of your teeth. It could take 3 months or up to 2 years. If you have a malfunction, it could take even longer. But, not trying to scare you here so your dentist is the one who will be able to tell you exactly how long. One of my cousins had to wear braces for almost 5 years because she had a lot of problems. My friend was supposed to wear her braces for 2 years, but after a year they took them off.
Reply:ya i didnt bother to look at the picture because i dont have imageshack but if they're the braces i have, they told me a year and half, and thats quick. they have little door like things that slide up on the top row and down on the bottom row to hold the wire in place. good luck i know your pain.
Reply:it matters a little on how bad they are but it is mostly just how fast your teeth shift
Reply:Mine are for two years... And I got them around the same age as u... and I had a pretty bad overbite... but only ur dentist can tell u for sure.
Reply:well it ranges judging by the severity and how fast your teeth shift. (i couldnt see your photo if i could i would of been able to give a approximation) but if you are really bothered by having braces for a long time you can also get invisaligns which do the same thing as regular braces but are practically invisible. You can also take them out to brush your teeth, floss and eat.

Reply:Probably about 1- 2 1/2 years. Your bite is good, and thats the hardest thing to correct so thats GREAT.


Your teeth are fine, just 1 rotated tooth thats making them look worse then they really are. I have braces for 18 months, and your teeth look a lot like mine except my front teeth have a space in between them (well they used to, before I got braces for the first time.) and I need braces for 18 months.


They're not that bad, except for the first couple days. If you don't want them to be too noticible get the clear ceramic ones, and if you really don't want anyone to notice get invisalign, if you can.


Remember, it will probably be on the lower end of whatever your ortho. tells you..
