DOG ISsue PleAsE HeLP!?

I have a dog issue, please help!?

I am 13 years old, I bought a dog named "max" when i was only 6. Just a few months ago max ran away i missed him alot, and he was gone for awhile. Now that max came back i was so happy, but then these people came and they were looking for a dog that looked exactly like max, and it was more than likely him, because he has a lazy ear, and no 2 front teeth, and the one in the picture didn't either. Should i just keep this dog that i've had for 7 years, or give it away??????

Please Help me.

i know it's my dog, should i keep him???? the people said they really miss him and he was a part of their family.....but i had him since forever and he's my family to i mean he's been in my family since 1st grade and he's been through alot with me like every major event the time i was finally happy was when i first got him it's like when my dad died he kept me happy.and i mean he's the veary first dog i ever owned

DOG ISsue PleAsE HeLP!?
keep him tell the old owners that they can visit him any time they want so it's like u both own him
Reply:You should in NO WAY give them your dog! Sounds like they may have aquired your dog over the last few months somehow.....maybe your dog was picked up at the SPCA by them. I would definitely ask them where they got their dog. If they say they did indeed get him from a shelter, check with that shelter for adoption records. In this case, I'm sorry to say, you would legally have to give him to them.
Reply:Talk with the other people. It can only be theirs if they lost it 7 years ago. They might understand if you explain to them how you feel, You could take turns being with him. Whoever doesn't get him can go visit him if it's okay with the other family. Maybe you could take turns. Or ask your mom what you should do. Besides if he was your dog first then you definitely should keep him. Tell them that they should get a new dog, it was yours first and it's not like you gave him away, he ran away. If you don't get to keep him get a new dog, I know it's not the same but it might help.
Reply:I say that you should keep him. You are the rightful owner of the dog. It's sad that this family will have to miss the dog but you are the dogs true owner. Good Luck.
Reply:well....it seems that u really love ur dog so i think u should do wat ever is best for u and ur dog
Reply:SCREW THE OWNERS
Reply:I would ask the people how long they had the dog they are looking for and where they got him from. If it was just for a few months (like the amount of time Max was missing from your family), then you know that it is indeed your dog. If they say it was longer than that, I would question it--I mean, how many dogs with exactly the same coloring have a lazy ear and two front teeth missing? Get out some photos of Max from the years that you had him (some are bound to have dates on them) and show them to the people to prove that Max is your dog and that he has been a part of your family for years.

If you are absolutely certain that the dog that came home to you is Max, then I would in no way give up the dog.

By the way, when he went missing, did you report him missing to the shelters or check with them to see if they had a dog that fit Max's description? If you did, this may help you in the case that the other family legally adopted him...
Reply:show the people the photos you have of your dog from being a pup and tell them its your dog that they found and kept.i wouldnt give it up if it were mine thats for sure they can get another
Reply:DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR DOG!!!! Maybe tell them they can visit but that's it. That dog is YOUR best friend!!!!!!!!!!
