Jaw Reconstruction?

Has anyone here gotten Jaw Reconstruction?

I want to know whether you're happy or upset with the results. Feel free to show before and after pictures if you have any.

I have protruding front teeth which need to be aligned, which will then make my top jaw and bottom jaw appear too far back, so with braces or via jaw reconstruction my jaw would have to be pushed forward. I have a very prominent chin, and my nose will also become very prominent after this operation and I'm wondering if it's worth it or not. Naturally I'm worried about whether it'll look better or worse than it is now.

Jaw Reconstruction?
Yep I agree w/them.
Reply:My father had his jaw "reconstructed" 2 times, and now his mouth barely opens, it worsened his condition, so get informed in more than one place and make sure you have a good doctor Report It

Reply:Orthognathic surgery or Jaw Surgery is the surgical correction of skeletal anomalies or malformations involving the mandible (lower jaw) or the maxilla (upper jaw).

Reconstructive surgery is performed on abnormal structures of the body, caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors or disease. It is generally performed to improve function, but may also be done to approximate a normal appearance.

Retrognathia or micrognathism is a deficiency of the mandibular bone. This does not allow the upper and lower teeth to come together when chewing food and may affect speech. Sleep apnea may also be produced by a retruded or deficient lower jaw. A deficiency of bone supporting the chin may require surgery (genioplasty) to build up the tissue and provide a normal framework for the chin.

after getting this surjery done you will definatly get a better appearance than the existing one!
Reply:She said it all.
