What do I say when he asks why I'm no longer interested?

I met a guy on myspace. He had about 9 or 10 pictures and I didn't notice till now that his teeth are not showing in any of them.


We've been talking on the phone for the past week, probably for 20 or more hours getting to know each other and trying to set up a time when we could meet.


I should have known better than to start flirting as early as I did. We got along well and everything. I was so excited to finally get to meet him...


I know this is so shallow but his teeth were terrible. I tried my hardest to quit looking at them but I could not help it. And his breath was rank!


I feel so bad.


How can I go from flirting with this guy everynight over the phone and suddenly stop liking him after the first time we meet?


We went out to eat and I lost my appatite. Thats how bad it was.


What do I say to him? I'm know he is going to call later and expect a second date but I can't. I just can't. Should I be completely honest?


I guess I only feel bad because its something he can't help..

It happens to me once, falling in love on the phone. What a voice he had ! Then we met, the same nightmare as yours.


I just told him that it happens, that I had this idea of prince charming since I was a kid and fantasized it was him, but it's not. Nobody's fault except mine. It went well. Actually we are still friend as really liked his personality.

Reply:don't be completely honest. But tell him your not intrested. Maybe say something stupid like there was no chemistry, b/c its vague and you don't have to go into detail. If you only went on one date you can do this all on the phone.

I recommend doing this over the phone, because if he freaks out, he wont try to attack you! Sorry, I'm just rambling!

Reply:You sound like a nice person and yes- as embarrassing as it might be, honesty is the best way to go. You can still be classy and tackful while being honest with him.

I personally don't have the heart to be honest, but you can let him know that while you think he's a great person when you were together you didnt feel an chemistry. Nothing that he DID wrong, just wasn't there. Its kind of honest without being completely direct and hopefully it wont hurt him too much.

Reply:I understand that some people can't help how their teeth are b/c of genetics and what not, but that doesn't mean that they can't get them corrected. Teeth is the first thing that I look at on ANYONE. In my opinion teeth tell how the person feels about themselves. If they are all broken and decayed, they probably don't have much self worth. I would just email him and tell him that you think he's a great person and all, but the teeth are really bothering you. I'm sure many other women felt the same way about him, that's why he's single.

Just tell him that "Perhaps this is going to sound shallow but one of the many things I look for in a fellow is good hygiene and that includes dental hygiene. I noticed when we met that your teeth and breath were terribly unattractive and I'm sorry but I just can't get past that. I wish you the best but I just don't want to continue this relationship"
Reply:You definitely have a dilemma. I suggest you make up a little white lie so that you can bow out without hurting his feelings. For example: I still have feelings for my ex boyfriend and we are going to work it out! Insist that it will be best if you and him cut all ties. Lying is wrong, but I think a white lie is better than the "UGLY" truth. Good luck!

Reply:If I was in your shoes I would not tell him the truth, because he is just going to be really hurt especially if he likes you. So just tell him that you started talking to an ex boy friend again or make up something else but not the truth.
Reply:Listen... you met this guy on myspace... so you can do 1 of two things.


You could tell him the truth... that you are just not interested in him and that there is no attraction anymore....


OR....


You could simply tell him that you have other things to focus on like school, work, personal life etc.... and that you just want a friendship....





He will either believe you and just be friends or know that you don't like him and leave you alone....
