Stop smoking.. cigs?

i need so motivation.. any one got any good web sites.. you know showing the effects on your lungs..etc.. with pictures..i am going to have my teeth clean weds.. and thinking about stopping .. i hate the yellow look

Pictures will not make you quit smoking.....what WILL though is when some doctor in a hospital looks you in the eye and says you have MAYBE 2 months to MAYBE 5 years if you are lucky......you have conjestive heart failure AND pulmonary hypertension and your lungs ache and every so often your oxygen level drops and you pass out and you use an oxygen mask and condensor every night to help you breathe....and you may not see your only child get married or present you with a grandchild and you have SO many things to do and probably not much time to do them.... This little story is TRUE unfortunately and it's MINE... I was a pack a day smoker for 35 years and the day the doc told me I was going to die, was 3 days after I had quit and that was 6 months ago and I haven't had one since and NEVER want one again.... The trick is to KEEP you hands busy.... I substituted oranges for cigarettes---my hands were busy peeling them, pulling them apart and eating them....in about 5 days I stopped craving cigarettes.... it's difficult, but if you do it when you are still young, you MIGHT have a good chance to see 80.... I, on the other hand am PRAYING to reach 60....(but I don't think I will)....Any time you quit is a good time--any time you don't quit is another day less that you will be alive.... Think about it---it's too late for me, but knowing what I am going through will help someone ELSE kick the habit... then I would tell the WORLD about it to help ONE person quit!!!!!!
Reply:I think thats enough motivation. I too need to quit. My chest and back feel tight and there is alot of tension in my neck and arms. I know this isn't my question, but thanks for a great answer. Report It
